Boiler Servicing
Keep your boiler running safely and efficiently with expert servicing from Lincoln Plumbing & Heating.
We have a very open and transparent approach with all our customers, this is a way that we build trust. We will first advice you on whether actually your boiler does need replacing. If this is the case, then we will advise on you on the right boiler based upon your home heating requirements.
Replacing your boiler can be expensive and ideally it is something that you should plan once your boiler is over 10 – 12 years old. If you are encountering frequent breakdowns, repairs to your boiler can become really costly. Here at Lincoln Plumbing & Heating we offer boiler replacements from some of the UK’s leading boiler brands. These include Ideal, Worcester Bosch & Vaillant.
What are the key signs that my boiler may need to be replaced
There are a variety of different factors that will help identify that your boiler may need replacing. Your pilot light should burn blue, if it’s either yellow or orange then you should contact us right away.
Another potential sign is the noise that comes from either your boiler or radiator. If you find that suddenly either of these appliances starts to increase in noise level, there could be a problem. Our engineer may suggest a power flush of your heating system to see if this helps eradicate the problem. But, if the noise sounds like humming or banging, it could be a much bigger issue.
Lastly and just as important, any evidence of any leaks or strange smells coming from your boiler, should be treated as urgent. Please call us on 01522 704 704, so we can advise you on the next steps.
What happens during a boiler service?
- Inspect the boiler as per the manufacturer guidelines (servicing requirements do vary between different boiler makes & models)
- Remove the boiler casing, check the internal components, and also the effectiveness of the seals & gaskets
- Look for any signs of distress
- Repair and replace any damaged parts
- Clean away any dirt or debris in the system
- Conduct a ‘gas tightness’ test to make sure there are no gas leaks
- Check that the flues are free from obstructions and properly sealed
