What are the key signs that my boiler may need to be replaced
There are a variety of different factors that will help identify that your boiler may need replacing. Your pilot light should burn blue, if it’s either yellow or orange then you should contact us right away.
Another potential sign is that the noise that comes from either your boiler or radiator. If you find that suddenly either of these appliances starts to increase in noise level, there could be a problem. Our engineer may suggest a power flush of your heating system to see if this helps eradicate the problem. But, if the noise sounds like humming or banging, it could be a much bigger issue. How often should I be replacing my boiler at home?
Depending on how well you look after your boiler, it can last at least 15 years. One of the key determining factors is whether your boiler receives an annual boiler service. Additionally, whether any faults or issues that are identified by our engineer are resolved promptly.
Should you have an old boiler, we would always advise you to consider replacing it with a new energy-efficient model. This can help reduce your energy bills and in a lot of situations the savings made, will more than cover the cost of the replacement. When you replace your old boiler, you are also reducing your carbon footprint.
